GDA sends Inception Report to State for Preparing Master Plan 2031

The Ghaziabad Development Authority has submitted an inception report to the state government detailing the methodology for preparing GIS-based Master Plan 2031 so that it can be forwarded to the Centre for approval. Once ready, the plan will be available on GDA’s website. The master plan will help assertain housing and infrastructure requirements on the basis of the projected population, officials said.

The private firm DDF Consultants, preparing the plan has been told to merge zonal plans of Modinagar, Ghaziabad and Loni and show all major projects, including those of Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), NCRTC, Delhi-Meerut Expressway and the proposed highway connecting Delhi and Dehradun, in the plan so that other projects can be planned accordingly.

GDA chief architect and town planner Asheesh Shivpuri said: “Once the master plan is ready, all information about Ghaziabad district will be available at a click of a mouse. Each property will be identified and information about will be available online.” A senior official said: “People will be able to choose a particular property and get all details about it, be it commercial or residential.”

DDF Consultants, is provided with survey sheets of Modinagar by National Remote Sensing Agency, Hyderabad. Reports for Ghaziabad and Loni are also likely to be sent by March 31. It is given 540 days to complete the project in five stages.
