Managing Director of Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. (UPMRC), Shri Kumar Keshav reviewed the ongoing civil construction work on the Kanpur Metro’s Corridor today and gave necessary instructions to the Metro engineers. Shri Keshav started his visit from Motijheel and reviewed the progress of civil construction at all 9 stations up to IIT, Kanpur. During his visit, Mr. Keshav gave clear instructions to the engineers of UP Metro that full attention should be paid to the convenience of the residents and as the work of Piles and Pile caps on the site is completed, narrow down the barricades on the road, which will increase the space for vehicles on the roads.
Expressing satisfaction over the rapid pace of civil construction of the Kanpur Metro, he said, “The team of UP Metro is working on the Priority Corridor, setting small targets and moving ahead with speed. Our focus is not on the achievements that we have achieved in such a short time, but our focus is on the goals that we have to complete. Various technical systems are to be installed for Metro operations in the Priority Corridor. Once all these systems get commissioned, the work of Corridor-1 between IIT & Naubasta and Corridor-2 from CSA to Barra-8 will be accelerated. UP Metro will complete the project within the stipulated time frame. Also, after the Metro project is ready in Kanpur like Lucknow, the infrastructure in the surrounding areas of the corridor will be better and prosperous.”
After inspecting the corridor, the Managing Director visited the casting yard at Lakhanpur, where he reviewed the facilities available to the workers in the labour colony and also planted saplings. Shri Keshav departed from the casting yard and reached the Metro Depot being built in the Polytechnic and analysed the work progress there.
